International scientific conferences create connections. FUTURA helps maintain them.
FUTURA. Journal of Science Communication and the Meetings Industry is a scientific newsletter developed as part of the “UR Conference Welcome Centre – Conferences as a Global Catalyst for the Internationalisation of the University of Rzeszów” project.
It is a regular communication channel for Polish and international academic and conference communities.
FUTURA focuses on the organisation and management of international scientific conferences, science communication, research promotion, internationalisation and good practices related to academic event organisation.
It combines a scientific perspective with practical support for conference organisers. Published content includes articles, analyses, checklists, tools, recommendations, good practices, interviews and information about scientific events.
Each issue is published digitally in Polish and English.

FUTURA covers topics including:
- conference project management;
- planning and organisation of scientific events;
- science communication;
- promotion of international conferences;
- dissemination of research results;
- internationalisation;
- digital accessibility;
- participant experience;
- conference evaluation;
- conference technologies;
- networking;
- international cooperation;
- good practices in scientific event organisation.
What We Publish
FUTURA publishes scientific, science-to-practice and practical materials, including:
- review articles;
- conceptual and applied articles;
- analyses;
- research communications;
- checklists;
- models;
- cards and tools;
- sets of indicators;
- recommendations;
- descriptions of good practices;
- interviews;
- information on international scientific conferences.
Materials should be consistent with the profile of FUTURA, have a clearly defined purpose and logical structure, and provide cognitive or practical value for readers.
Scientific Standard
Scientific and science-to-practice materials prepared for FUTURA should:
- have a clearly defined purpose;
- have a scope appropriate to the topic;
- follow a logical structure;
- use relevant sources;
- include properly prepared citations and references;
- present conclusions resulting from the content of the paper.
The adopted publishing documentation defines these elements as part of the FUTURA scientific standard.
Practical Resources
An important part of FUTURA consists of resources intended for direct use by conference organisers, including:
- checklists;
- cards;
- models;
- planning tools;
- sets of indicators;
- criteria;
- recommendations;
- good practices.
Practical resources are linked to the topic of each issue and support conference planning, implementation and evaluation.
Digital Accessibility
FUTURA is prepared with digital accessibility in mind.
The publication uses, in particular:
- a logical heading structure;
- appropriate reading order;
- alternative text for informative graphics;
- descriptive links;
- appropriately structured tables;
- adequate contrast;
- solutions supporting readability.

Publication Plan 2026–2027
The project includes 20 regular issues of FUTURA and one special issue summarising the publication cycle.
The planned topics include conference planning, promotion, international guest services, conference funding, digital accessibility, e-monographs, sustainable events, international partnerships, conference technologies, networking, evaluation and the future of international scientific conferences.

University of Rzeszów units organising or co-organising international scientific conferences may submit events for inclusion in the FUTURA News section.
