About the Scientific Club

The Medical Science Club conducts student research focused on medicine, laser technologies and optical sciences. Its principal areas of interest include photodynamic therapy, photochemistry, photophysics and singlet oxygen, with particular attention to their applications in therapy, diagnosis and the development of innovative biomedical solutions. Recent research has included experimental studies of indocyanine green-mediated photodynamic therapy in breast cancer models, investigations of indocyanine green photostability and singlet oxygen generation, and the assessment of tissue changes following 5-aminolevulinic photodynamic therapy using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging. The Club is also actively involved in the preparation of scientific publications, including original research articles and review papers arising from these projects and from international scientific collaborations. Its activities are centred on the development, evaluation and scientific dissemination of research in photomedicine and related biomedical fields.
