Leszek Pawlikowicz, PhD, is an associate professor and the head of the Department of National and Internal Security at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Rzeszów, as well as a lecturer at non-commissioned officer courses for students within the Academic Legion. He is the author and co-author of of several dozen scientific publications (including those on the so-called Philadelphia List in UK-US Base Taylor & Francis) on functioning special services and armed forces during the Cold War and post-Cold War period, including pioneering monographs on the Polish and Soviet secret services: Tajny front zimnej wojny. Uciekinierzy z polskich służb specjalnych 1956–1964 (Warszawa 2004); Status prawny uciekinierów z polskich służb specjalnych 1956–1964. Normy prawa karnego, międzynarodowego publicznego oraz wewnętrzne przepisy azylowe krajów przyjmujących (Rzeszów 2008); Aparat centralny 1. Zarządu Głównego KGB jako instrument realizacji globalnej strategii Kremla 1954–1991 (Warszawa 2013), and co-authored the books: Służby wywiadowcze jako narzędzie realizacji polityki państwa w XX w. Wybrane zagadnienia (Rzeszów 2014); Aparaty centralne służb wywiadu cywilnego Układu Warszawskiego jako wyspecjalizowane struktury państwa 1944–1991 (Rzeszów 2015); Resorty "siłowe" w "puczu sierpniowym" 1991 roku: Analiza polityczno-militarna (Rzeszów 2017). He is the co-author and consultant of three documentaries for Polish Television from the series S jak szpieg (TVP2) and one for Brazilian television: 1964: O Brasil Entre Armas e Livros (2019). Reviews of some of the works were published, among others, in the bimonthly UK magazine "International Affairs" (Chatham House-The Royal Institute of International Affairs).
