REPORT ON EVENT 1: Workshops on methodology of work with preschool aged children

On October 21-22, 2025, at the University of Rzeszów (building G4, room 125), workshops on methodology of work with preschool aged children were held as part of the project funded by the International Visegrad Fund, entitled: Foot care education program for preschool aged children from the V4 countries. The workshop was attended by project members from the partner countries: Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The workshops aimed to strengthen cooperation between partner institutions, exchange experiences in early childhood education, and collaboratively develop tools and materials for an educational program designed for preschool-aged children.

Day 1: The workshops began with a welcome speech delivered by the Project Manager, Dr. hab. Ewa Puszczałowska-Lizis, Professor at the University of Rzeszów, representing the University of Rzeszów. This was followed by a review of the workshop objectives and schedule. Subsequently, representatives of each partner institution presented the mission and key activities of their respective universities, as well as their own experience in early childhood therapy and education. They delivered theoretical lectures on methodologies for working with preschool children and presented examples of significant projects or programs. The first day of the workshop concluded with a group discussion on the application of theory in current practices, as well as the identification and discussion of ideas to be incorporated into the Educational Program.

Day 2: On the second day, a review of the key conclusions from the first day was conducted. This was followed by group work aimed at:

· defining the topics or modules of the Educational Program,

· preparing the tools and materials necessary for the implementation and delivery of the Educational Program for preschool children, including the Educational Program scenario,

· developing a lecture plan for parents, caregivers, and teachers on topics related to teaching methods for appropriate foot exercises for children and key aspects of selecting proper footwear for children.

A discussion was also held regarding the development of the content for an instructional leaflet for parents and teachers, as well as a child-friendly leaflet. The schedule of the Educational Program, the division of responsibilities among partners, and the channels for further communication and collaboration were established. The workshops concluded with a summary of achievements and an exchange of feedback among the participants.
