Archeologia Pradziejowa / Prehistoric Archaeology

Głównym kierunkiem badawczym realizowanym w Katedrze Archeologii Pradziejowej jest tematyka pograniczy kulturowych oraz wschodnich rubieży środkowoeuropejskich prowincji kulturowych dla starszych okresów (epoka kamienia, epoka brązu i wczesna epoka żelaza) oraz tematyka relacji środkowoeuropejskich, lokalnych kultur ze światem celtyckim i strefą nadczarnomorską dla okresów późniejszych (okresy: lateński, wpływów rzymskich i wędrówek ludów). Badania obejmują szerokie spektrum zagadnień – od problemów chronologii, poprzez kwestie dynamiki zmian i relacji kulturowych, osadnictwa, gospodarki, środowiska przyrodniczego, archeologii funeralnej czy klasycznego źródłoznawstwa. Szczególny nacisk kładziony jest na interdyscyplinarny wymiar prowadzonych badań, przy współudziale przedstawicieli innych dyscyplin i dziedzin nauki (biologów, palinologów, archeozoologów, archeobotaników, geomorfologów, fizyków, chemików). Nieodłączną częścią analizowanej problematyki są badania terenowe prowadzone na terenie Polski, jak i za granicą (Ukraina, Mołdawia, Rumunia, Francja) oraz projekty naukowe i granty realizowane w kilkuletnich cyklach, skupiające się na wybranych problemach badawczych. Zakres tematyczny realizowanych badań mieści się jednocześnie w węższych okresach chronologicznych:

2. prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Rybicka (e-mail: mrybicka@ur.edu.pl)– archeologia epoki eneolitu, problematyka osadnictwa, chronologii, pograniczy kulturowych i relacji kulturowych;
3. prof. dr hab. Sławomir Kadrow (e-mail: skadrow@ur.edu.pl)– neolit i wczesny okres epoki brązu;
4. prof. dr hab. Sylwester Czopek (e-mail: sczopek@ur.edu.pl), dr hab. Katarzyna Trybała-Zawiślak, prof. UR (e-mail: ktrybala@ur.edu.pl) – epoka brązu i wczesna epoka żelaza, relacje kulturowo-osadnicze Europy Środkowej i Europy Wschodniej, archeologia funeralna epoki brązu i wczesnej epoki żelaza;
5. dr hab. Tomasz Bochnak, prof. UR (e-mail: tbochnak@ur.edu.pl) – epoka żelaza, metalurgia metali nieżelaznych w ostatnich wiekach przed Chrystusem, militaria kultur zlatenizowanych na ziemiach polskich ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem importów celtyckich, oddziaływania kultury lateńskiej na ziemiach polskich przejawiające się zarówno w kulturze materialnej jak i duchowej oraz relacje ziem polskich (zwłaszcza Polski południowo-wschodniej) z terenami zajętymi przez krąg dacki oraz ze strefą nadczarnomorską.

The main research field carried out at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology is the subject of cultural borderland and the eastern frontiers of the Central European cultural provinces of the older periods (the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age) and the subject of Central European relations, local cultures with the Celtic world and the Black Sea zone of later periods (periods: La Tene, Roman influences and Migration). The studies cover a wide spectrum of issues –from the problems of chronology, through the dynamics of changes and cultural relations, settlement, economy, natural environment, funeral archaeology and classical source science. The interdisciplinary dimension of research is particularly emphasized together with the participation of representatives of other disciplines and fields of science (biologists, palynologists, archaeozoologists, archaeobotanists, geomorphologists, physicists, chemists). Moreover, an inseparable part of the analysed issues is fieldwork conducted in Poland and abroad (Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, France) as well as research projects and grants carried out for several years focusing on selected research problems. The subject matter of the developed studies can be narrowed down to the following chronological periods:

3. prof. dr hab. Sławomir Kadrow (e-mail: skadrow@ur.edu.pl) - Neolithic and Early Bronze Age;
4. prof. dr hab. Sylwester Czopek (e-mail: sczopek@ur.edu.pl), dr hab. Katarzyna Trybała-Zawiślak, prof. UR (e-mail: ktrybala@ur.edu.pl) - Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, cultural and settlement relations of Central and Eastern Europe, funeral archaeology of the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age;
5. dr hab. Tomasz Bochnak, prof. UR (e-mail: tbochnak@ur.edu.pl) - the Iron Age, the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals in the last centuries BC, military accessories of latenized cultures in Poland, with particular emphasis on Celtic imports, the influence of the La Téne culture in Polish lands, manifested both in material and spiritual culture, as well as the relations of Polish areas (especially south eastern Poland) with the areas occupied by the Dacian circle and the Black Sea zone.
