Opis tematu badawczego / Description of the research topic

Wymieniony w temacie problem obejmuje cztery epoki kulturowe, w chronologii dziejów lata od 966 do 1830 roku, oraz dodatkowo dystynkcje i sposoby funkcjonowania w procesie historycznoliterackim paradygmatów genologicznych. Z uwagi na związaną z tym oczywistą wielość zagadnień teoretycznych, historycznych oraz wyznaczających je materiałów źródłowo-archiwalnych, dodatkowo ze względu na dwujęzyczność kultury dawnej konieczna jest znacząca selekcja obszarów badawczych i wskazanie wśród nich wątków uprzywilejowanych, odpowiadających naukowym zainteresowaniom pracowników, którzy złożyli deklarację objęcia kuratelą promotorską domyślnych prac doktorskich. Są to następujące pola tematyczne:

a.       Badania piśmiennictwa okolicznościowego epok staropolskich w kontekście historyczno-socjologicznym – zagadnienia komunikacji literackiej i społecznej, genologii, retoryki oraz tradycji historycznoliterackiej.

b.       Świadomość literacka i historyczno-narodowa w schyłkowej fazie polskiego oświecenia.

c.       Życie literackie oraz zawartość periodyków naukowo-literackich na Litwie („Tygodnik Wileński”, „Gazeta Literacka Wileńska”, „Dziennik Wileński”) w dobie porozbiorowo-przedromantycznej.

d.       Wpływ integralności i zmienności paradygmatów naukowych na rozwój wiedzy o kulturze oświecenia.

e.       Instrumentarium retoryczne oraz metody krytyki retorycznej analizy tekstu w badaniach nad gatunkami.

Podstawę prac podejmowanych w ramach wyznaczonego tematu stanowić będą kwerendy przeprowadzane w archiwach polskich i zagranicznych bibliotek naukowych. Procedura postępowania ze zgromadzonym materiałem w przeważającym mierze oparta zostanie na metodzie filologiczno-historycznej, umożliwiającej dotarcie do znaczeń tekstów w macierzystych kontekstach oraz wskazanie oryginalnych cech ich poetyki. Ów zasadniczy zrąb metodologiczny uzupełnią elementy krytyki genetycznej i krytyki neoklasycznej, a także badań intertekstualnych (m.in. w zakresie związków analizowanych tekstów z kanonem zachodnioeuropejskim) oraz biograficznych.

The issue mentioned in the subject encompasses four cultural periods, the years from 966 to 1830 in historical chronology, and additionally distinctions and forms of functioning of genological paradigms in the historical-literary process. In view of the related obvious multitude of theoretical, historical issues and designating them archival source materials, and additionally due to the bilingualism of the culture of the past, it is essential to introduce significant selection of the researched areas and indicate among them preferential strands which would appeal to the interests of the employees who have obliged to supervise doctoral theses. The subject areas are as follows:   

a.       The study of commemorative literature of the Old Polish periods in the historical- sociological context – the issues of literary and social communication, genology, rhetoric and historical-literary tradition.

b.       Literary and national historical awareness in the decadent phase of The Age of Enlightenment.

c.       Literary life and the contents of scientific-literary periodicals in Lithuania (The Weekly of Vilnius, The Literary Vilnius Newspaper, The Vilnius Journal) in the post-partition and Pre- Romanticism era.

d.       The influence of integrity and variability of scientific paradigms on the development of the knowledge of the Enlightenment culture.

e.       Rhetorical instrumentation and the review methods of rhetorical text analysis in the studies of genres.

The basis of the research undertaken in the scope of the designated subject will be queries carried out in the archives of Polish and foreign scientific libraries. The procedure of dealing with the gathered material will be based mostly on philological-historical method, which enables to access the meaning of texts in the prime contexts as well as indicate the original characteristics of their poetics. This prime methodological characteristics will be supplemented with the elements of genetic review and neoclassical review together with intertextual studies (among others regarding the relations of the analysed texts to the West-European canon) as well as biographical ones.

a.    Ponadprzeciętne zainteresowania historią literatury polskiej epok dawnych do 1830 roku oraz zagadnieniami retoryki i komunikacji społecznej, potwierdzone tematyką prac rocznych i dyplomowych oraz ewentualnym uczestnictwem w konferencjach.

b.    Umiejętności: samodzielnego formułowania problemów badawczych oraz twórczego analizowania i interpretowania tekstów literackich.

c.     Ukształtowany warsztat polonistyczny, szczególnie w zakresie stosowania języka naukowego, posługiwania się elektronicznymi i tradycyjnymi zasobami oraz narzędziami badawczymi, postępowania tekstologicznego, edycji tekstów dawnych.

d.    Znajomość metodologii literaturoznawczych i umiejętność ich wykorzystania w praktyce.

e.    Znajomość podstaw teoretycznych oraz ogólnych i wybranych zagadnień szczegółowych właściwych dla literaturoznawstwa oraz komunikacji społecznej.

a.       Profound interest in Polish literature of the past periods to 1830 and the issues regarding rhetoric and social communication, validated by the subject of yearly papers and diploma theses as well as potential participation in conferences.

b.       Skills: independent formulation of research problems and creative analysis and interpretation of literary texts.

c.       Well-developed Polish language skills, especially in the field of using scientific language, using electronic and traditional resources as well as research tools, textological proceedings, editing old texts.

d.       The knowledge of the methodologies of literary studies and the ability to apply them in practice.

e.       The knowledge of theoretical fundamentals as well as general and selected specific issues characteristic of literary studies and social communication.
