Welcome Centre at the University of Rzeszów

Welcome to the University of Rzeszów!

The Welcome Centre is the University's first point of contact for prospective and current students, with particular emphasis on supporting international students and doctoral candidates. Located at the heart of the Rejtana Campus, the Centre provides information and practical guidance on academic programmes, admissions, campus facilities, and student services. It also offers campus tours, orientation activities, and support with general enquiries, helping students settle into university life and make the most of their experience at the University of Rzeszów.

The Welcome Centre was established as part of a project funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the Welcome to Poland Programme (2022). Its mission is to support the successful integration and well-being of the University's international community by providing practical assistance before arrival, during enrolment, and throughout students' studies.

The Centre's core responsibilities include:

• providing information and guidance on administrative procedures related to studying at the University of Rzeszów, including, where necessary, support with residence legalisation procedures in Poland;
• offering advice on accommodation, local transport, and practical aspects of everyday life in Rzeszów;
• providing pre-arrival information to help new international students prepare for their studies and relocation;
• organising orientation programmes and welcome events for international students at the beginning of each semester;
• signposting students to specialist University services, including academic support, student wellbeing, careers, disability support, and the Students' Union, where appropriate;
• organising meetings, workshops, and integration activities that promote intercultural exchange and engagement within the University community;
• collaborating with Faculties, Research Centres, and the Doctoral School to support international students, doctoral candidates, and visiting scholars;
• sharing information about academic, cultural, and social events organised by the University and in the Rzeszów region;
• responding promptly to enquiries by email, telephone, and in person;
• providing ongoing support to international students throughout their studies and directing them to appropriate University services whenever additional assistance is required.

The Welcome Centre plays an important role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and internationally oriented learning environment. By providing practical guidance and facilitating access to University services, it helps international students adapt to their new academic and social environment and participate fully in university life.
