Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences

The Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences at the University of Rzeszów boasts a rich academic heritage that dates back to 1973, when the Branch of Economics of Production and Agricultural Trade was established in Rzeszów as part of the Agricultural University in Kraków. Over the years, the Faculty has undergone several structural transformations, reflecting its dynamic development and expanding academic profile.
In 1987, the branch evolved into two distinct faculties: the Faculty of Technology of Trade in Raw Materials and Agricultural Products, and the Faculty of Economics of Agricultural Production. These were merged in 1993 to form the Faculty of Economics, which encompassed both technological and agricultural disciplines. In 2001, this Faculty became part of the newly established University of Rzeszów.
Further organizational changes led to the creation of the Faculty of Biology and Agriculture in 2005. In 2019, two specialized institutes were established within its structure:
• Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Management and Protection
• Food Technology and Nutrition

As part of a comprehensive university-wide reform in 2025, these institutes were integrated into the newly formed Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences, marking a new chapter in the Faculty’s evolution and its commitment to interdisciplinary research and education.
