Media visual and social communication, Programme in English
Pursuant to the Act of 4 April 2025 amending certain acts with the aim of eliminating irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland:
1. A foreign national applying for first-cycle (Bachelor’s) studies or long-cycle Master’s studies who holds a foreign qualification (excluding International Baccalaureate – IB – and European Baccalaureate – EB diplomas) issued in a country that is not a member of the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), or the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and not covered by the provisions of an international agreement (such terms apply, for example, to documents issued by China or Ukraine), shall be required, as part of the admission process, to:
· submit the educational document issued abroad together with a written statement concerning said document, issued by the Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA);
· provide a document confirming proficiency in the language of instruction of the study programme at a level of at least B2;
· successfully pass an entrance examination verifying knowledge necessary to undertake studies at the relevant level.
2. A foreign national applying for second-cycle (Master’s) studies based on an administrative decision of the rector, who holds a foreign diploma issued in a country that is not a member of the EU, EFTA, or OECD, and whose diploma has not been recognized as equivalent to the relevant Polish diploma either pursuant to an international agreement or through a diploma recognition (nostrification) procedure, shall be required, as part of the admission process, to:
· submit the foreign diploma of graduation together with a written statement concerning said diploma, issued by the Director of NAWA;
· provide a document confirming proficiency in the language of instruction of the study programme at a level of at least B2.
The types of documents confirming language proficiency in the language of instruction of the study programme shall be specified by a regulation issued by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

Required documents
- application for admission to the University and a personal questionnaire (printed from the application system),
- a certificate or other document recognized in the Republic of Poland as a document entitling you to apply for admission to university (photocopy and original available for inspection),
- sworn translations of documents prepared in a foreign language submitted in the recruitment procedure: translation into Polish or English
- if you are under 18 years of age - consent granted from your parents or a legal representative to pursue a degree at the University of Rzeszów. If the other parent is unable to submit the document, one document should be submitted, i.e. the consent of one parent with justification.
- original power of attorney if another person acts on your behalf.

In the case of documents obtained abroad, the University may request the candidate to certify that the secondary school certificate or high school diploma or the higher education diploma, entitle the candidate to purse first-cycle or second-cycle studies, respectively, in the country in which the documents were issued (if such information is not included in the document entitling you to pursue university education). The University may also request the candidate to provide information on the grading scale of the documents referred to above.
In the case of high/secondary school diplomas/certificates not covered by international agreements, recognition or confirmation of high/secondary school education is possible on the basis of a decision of the Superintendent of Schools.
The registration process for admission to the University will be completed once a complete list of documents (uploaded scans of documents to the IRK system) is submitted to the Faculty Recruitment Teams with in the deadline set in the application schedule.
Attention!
Please be advised that as of July 1, 2025, the responsibility for issuing information on foreign certificates and documents confirming eligibility to apply for first-cycle (bachelor’s) and long-cycle master’s degree programmes will be transferred to the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
Pursuant to the Act of April 4, 2025, amending certain acts to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland, announced on May 12, 2025, the Director of NAWA will be granted the authority to issue written statements confirming whether a certificate or other document entitles the holder to apply for admission to first-cycle or long-cycle master’s degree programmes in the Republic of Poland, based on a submitted application.
These new responsibilities will be carried out by the NAWA Office for the Recognition of Education as of July 1, 2025. Applications for recognition of certificates submitted before this date will not be processed.
