Resovia Saltans Song and Dance Ensemble of the University of Rzeszów

The Resovia Saltans Song and Dance Ensemble is a highly accomplished folk group representing the University of Rzeszów (UR), the largest public higher education institution in the Podkarpacie region of Poland. Established in 1975, the ensemble has, for fifty years, brought together students, graduates and doctoral candidates from a wide range of academic disciplines who, with remarkable passion and commitment, develop their dance, vocal and instrumental skills.

Beautifully crafted choreography, refined musical arrangements, a high level of technical proficiency and captivating interpretations of folk repertoire are among the ensemble’s greatest strengths, admired by audiences both in Poland and abroad.

The ensemble is led by experienced and widely recognised instructors whose professionalism and artistic expertise contribute significantly to its success. The wide range of classes offered ensures a consistently high artistic standard. Training places particular emphasis on dance aesthetics, stage expression, musical sensitivity and vocal skills, all of which are essential to delivering outstanding performances.

Many ensemble members acquire additional qualifications in the field of dance culture, enabling them to work as dance teachers and choreographers in schools as well as in a variety of cultural and educational institutions. These advanced professional competencies are supported by a two‑year postgraduate choreography programme specialising in Polish dance and modern dance.

Students’ participation in the Resovia Saltans ensemble is organised into several groups, including performance groups, beginner groups and vocal and instrumental sections. Dancers refine their technique and broaden their repertoire in classes dedicated to Polish national dances, regional dances and selected dances from other cultures, as well as in classes in characteristic technique, classical dance and freestyle with elements of contemporary dance.

The Resovia Saltans Song and Dance Ensemble is one of the University of Rzeszów’s most widely recognised student artistic associations.
