The grade conversion is done by the respective Admissions Committee. If the method of converting grades from the country where the candidate obtained the diploma is not described on the NAWA website, the decision on the method of converting grades to the Polish scale is made by the relevant Admissions Committee.

Criterion 3 - Interview

In order for a candidate to be admitted to the interview, all formal requirements must be met.

The interview with the candidate concerns knowledge in the chosen scientific discipline or artistic discipline and is evaluated according to the following scoring system: 0 - 40 points. A score of at least 20 points is considered a positive result of the interview.

The interview with the candidate concerns general knowledge of the discipline and the scope of the research to be done. In particular, the scope of the interview includes:

  2. knowledge of the subject area of the research plan;
  3. ability to define the concept of future research;

Criterion 4 - Scientific and artistic achievements

The Admissions Committee also takes into account the candidate's documented scientific and artistic achievements (for the current year and/or for the period of the last 4 calendar years preceding the recruitment procedure) in the scientific or artistic discipline within which the admissions are conducted. The Admissions Committee has the right not to take into account an achievement, if there is no connection between the achievement and the discipline in which the candidate plans to pursue his/her future doctoral dissertation. A detailed list of the candidate's scientific and artistic achievements that are taken into account and the way they are scored and documented is enclosed as Annex 1 to the Resolution on admissions.

The final mark in the admissions procedure is a point value calculated according to the formula:

candidate's score = (X•1) + (Y•0.10)

where:

X - the number of points obtained at the interview

Y - the number of points obtained based on the applicant's scientific and artistic achievements
