Władysław Szafer Medal awarded to Professor Idalia Kasprzyk from the Faculty of Biology, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development
We are proud to announce that Professor Idalia Kasprzyk from the University of Rzeszów, has been awarded the Władysław Szafer Medal – a prestigious distinction often referred to within the academic community as the "Botanical Oscar" – conferred in recognition of an outstanding lifetime contribution to the field of botany.
The medal was presented on 1st July this year, during the 60th Congress of the Polish Botanical Society. This is the highest honour granted by the Society, and it highlights Professor Kasprzyk’s substantial contribution to the development of biological sciences – particularly in the fields of botany, aerobiology, and ecology.
As a further expression of recognition, Professor Kasprzyk was also invited by the Chair of the Medal Committee to deliver the opening keynote lecture at the Congress.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Kasprzyk on receiving this distinguished award, which stands as a testament to her many years of dedication, scientific passion, and significant impact on the advancement of Polish botany.
