The University of Rzeszów is part of the inauguration of the European City of Sport 2026. Starting in October, scholarships for sporting achievements will be available to students.
On January 28, Rzeszów officially inaugurated its title of European City of Sport 2026. The event brought together representatives from the worlds of sport, science, and local government, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and sport as a key element in the development of the city and region.
During the gala ceremony, the program of sporting events planned for the coming year was presented. The inauguration was attended by professional athletes, amateurs, and sports enthusiasts, as well as representatives of the city authorities and Rzeszów's academic institutions. The University of Rzeszów was represented by its Rector, Prof. Adam Reich, MD, PhD.
A particularly important moment for the academic community was the announcement by the Rector of the University of Rzeszów that from the new academic year, i.e. from October 2026, students of the University of Rzeszów will be able to apply for scholarships for sporting achievements. This initiative is an expression of the university's consistent support for students who combine academic development with sporting activities.
