The University of Rzeszów and the Trzebownisko Municipality to Collaborate on Health Education Projects

On 8 July 2025, the University of Rzeszów signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Trzebownisko, marking a new chapter in joint efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, develop sport, and engage the local community.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Professor Adam Reich, and the Mayor of Trzebownisko, Dr Sławomir Porada. The collaboration will cover a wide range of initiatives, including the organisation of regional and nationwide sports competitions, health prevention programmes for residents, and the development of sports and recreational infrastructure within the municipality.

A key focus will be on joint projects in the field of health education, particularly those related to physical activity, healthy nutrition, and addiction prevention. An important component of the partnership will be the establishment of a Beach Sports Centre, featuring professional courts for beach volleyball, beach soccer, and beach handball.

The agreement also includes the implementation of scientific research on the physical fitness levels of local residents. These studies will be conducted as part of diploma seminars at the Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences, and their results will inform reports contributing both to academic knowledge and to practical strategies in public health management within the municipality.

Coordination of activities will be overseen by Professor Wojciech Czarny, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences, on behalf of the University, and by Mayor Dr Sławomir Porada and Director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre (OSiR), Tomasz Kloc, on behalf of the Municipality.
