The Rector of the University of Rzeszów hosted participants at the international conference ‘NextGen SUSTAINABILITY – Data, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Transformation’

On 6 July 2026, His Magnificence the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich, welcomed to his office experts from the international scientific conference ‘NextGen SUSTAINABILITY – Data, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Transformation’, which marked the opening of the 15th ASECU 2026 International Summer School; the conference was organised by the Faculty of Economics and Finance at the University of Rzeszów.

The meeting was attended by: Dr Marek Cierpiał-Wolan – President of the Central Statistical Office, who delivered a lecture during the conference entitled “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in a Changing World: Challenges and Directions for Development”; Rifat Hossain – Director of Development at the World Health Organisation (WHO), who gave a presentation entitled “Intelligence for Equity: Governing AI so that Sustainable Development Reaches Everyone – Lessons from Global Health”; and Bogdan Wierzbiński, Professor at the University of Rzeszów and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance at the University of Rzeszów.

The discussions centred on the role of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in the development of science, the economy and healthcare, as well as the importance of cooperation between the academic community, public institutions and international organisations. The meeting also provided an opportunity to showcase the scientific and teaching potential of the University of Rzeszów and to discuss possibilities for further cooperation.
