Swimmers Shine Once Again – 7 Medals at the AZS Polish Integrative Swimming Championships
From 9 to 11 May 2025, the 10th edition of the AZS Polish Integrative Swimming Championships took place at the swimming pool of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The event brought together student-athletes representing AZS clubs from 23 universities across Poland.
The University of Rzeszów was represented by four students, supported by the Office for Persons with Disabilities and the AZS University Sports Club. Once again, they proved their strength in the pool, earning a total of seven medals in their respective categories.
- Katarzyna Karakin, a second-year Biology student, secured two medals: a silver in the 50 m breaststroke and a bronze in the 25 m freestyle.
- Patryk Bem, a second-year master’s student in Administration, also claimed two medals: a silver in the 25 m freestyle and a bronze in the 50 m freestyle.
- Michał Domański, a second-year Computer Science student, reached the podium with a bronze in the 50 m breaststroke.
- Gracjan Nowak, a third-year student of Physical Education and second-year student of Physiotherapy, won a silver medal in the 25 m freestyle.
In addition to their individual performances, the University of Rzeszów team competed in the mixed relay, earning a silver medal in the 4x50 m freestyle event.
Nearly all athletes achieved new personal bests during the competition.
The team was coached during the event by Artur Szymański, MA, and the students train regularly under the guidance of Professor Iwona Tabaczek-Bejster, and Artur Szymański, MA.
