Science, Sport and Recreation Week at the University of Rzeszów
From 12 to 16 May 2025, the Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences, Medical College of the University of Rzeszów, held the fourth edition of its Science, Sport and Recreation Week. The event brought together students, academic staff, and secondary school pupils from Rzeszów and the surrounding region, offering a dynamic programme that combined scientific exploration, physical activity, and academic community building.
The first three days were dedicated to practical workshops conducted in state-of-the-art laboratories and studios, including facilities for Training Diagnostics, Information Technology, Psychomotor Studies, Sport Psychology, and Motion Analysis. Students had the opportunity to use advanced diagnostic equipment to evaluate key motor abilities such as endurance, strength, agility, speed, and flexibility. Additionally, participants benefited from free body composition analysis, enhancing their understanding of physical culture science.
Thursday, 15 May, was devoted to sports competition and community engagement. Events were held at the University’s Athletics Centre and included track and field contests, a boxing tournament, and fitness demonstrations. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were His Magnificence Rector Professor Adam Reich, and Mr Martin Gärtner, Consul General of the Republic of Austria. The day also saw visits from local secondary school students, who had the chance to explore the research and teaching infrastructure of the Faculty — an experience that may inspire future academic choices.
The week concluded with a Student Scientific Conference, during which participants presented the results of their research conducted throughout the event. The conference provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, scientific communication, and academic integration.
