Safety Training for University of Rzeszów Staff
On 20 May, the University of Rzeszów hosted a specialised safety training session in the St Jadwiga the Queen Auditorium. The event brought together both administrative staff and academic teachers.
The training was designed to equip university personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to crisis situations—both locally and in a broader international context. The programme included real-life threat scenarios that staff may encounter, ranging from evacuation procedures and responses to terrorist threats, to issues related to information security and potential espionage activity.
This preventive and educational initiative stems from the growing need to raise awareness and enhance staff preparedness in the face of extreme situations. The immediate motivation for organising the training came from a series of alarming incidents that have recently occurred at universities and public institutions across Poland.
In light of the current geopolitical situation and the proximity of the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine, Rzeszów has become a key point on Poland’s security map. This reality is reflected in the training content, which includes a risk analysis linked to the region’s location, as well as strategies for protecting academic infrastructure and responding to emergencies.
This training marks a significant step towards strengthening the institutional resilience of the University of Rzeszów and fostering a greater sense of security within the academic community.
