Rector’s Proxy for Security and Resource Protection Honoured for Contributions to Rzeszów’s Civil Protection Model
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Sławomir Adamczyk, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Security and Resource Protection at the University of Rzeszów, has been awarded a medal in recognition of his contributions to the development and implementation of the “Civil Protection and Civil Defence System of the City of Rzeszów.” This distinction serves as a testament to his dedication and significant input into initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and resilience of Rzeszów’s residents.
The “Civil Protection and Civil Defence System of the City of Rzeszów” is a comprehensive framework designed to improve public safety by integrating the efforts of public administration, emergency services, academic institutions, and non-governmental organisations. The system is built on the following key pillars:
- Strategic Planning and Coordination: Development of detailed evacuation plans, crisis management protocols, and civil defence strategies tailored to diverse emergency scenarios.
- Inter-institutional Collaboration: Strengthening cooperation between key stakeholders and agencies.
- Training and Simulation Exercises: Regular implementation of training sessions and emergency drills to ensure preparedness among emergency services and administrative personnel.
- Public Education: Raising public awareness regarding potential hazards and recommended actions during emergency situations.
The medal was awarded to members of the expert team responsible for the creation and implementation of the system. Among those honoured were Elżbieta Niedzielska, Chair of the Safety and Public Order Commission of the Rzeszów City Council and team coordinator; Sławomir Adamczyk, Rector’s Proxy for Security and Resource Protection at the University of Rzeszów; Artur Polakiewicz, security expert and analyst from the Faculty of Management at Rzeszów University of Technology; representatives of the General Staff of the ZS Headquarters; and Grzegorz Wrona, Vice-President of Rzeszów.
