On December 8, 2025, the main building of the University of Rzeszów hosted the opening of a unique exhibition of artists' works, prepared to support the Podkarpackie Children's Hospice. The grand opening of the exhibition began at 12:00 p.m. and brought together representatives of the art world, the academic community, partners of the initiative, and people involved in charitable activities in the region.

The exhibition is one of the key events of the “Kapela Serc” project – a joint initiative of six institutions that signed a cooperation agreement on November 18th to support the hospice, which has been operating for 18 years. The University of Rzeszów is acting as co-organizer and host of the exhibition.

70 works donated for auction

An important element of this year's event was the contribution of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Rzeszów. The faculty staff donated a total of 39 works to the Podkarpackie Children's Hospice, reinforcing the idea that art can really change the everyday lives of those who need specialized care.

The works presented at the exhibition – by artists from all over Poland, including those associated with the University of Rzeszów – can be bid on starting on the opening day. An online auction was launched at the same time, with proceeds going to support the Podkarpackie Children's Hospice.

“Kapela Serc”: a joint initiative of six institutions

The “Kapela Serc” project includes a number of charitable activities: collections, auctions, and the sale of donation tokens, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Podkarpackie Children's Hospice. The co-organizers of the campaign are: Polish Radio Rzeszów, the Association of Students and Graduates of the University of Rzeszów, the Podkarpackie Children's Hospice Foundation based in Rzeszów, the University of Rzeszów, Rzeszów – the capital of innovation, TVP3 Rzeszów, and the news portal nowiny24.pl.
