Opening of Patrycja Longawa’s Exhibition “Illustratively About the Poster” at the University of Rzeszów Museum Gallery
On 20 October 2025, the Gallery of the University of Rzeszów Museum – at the Rectorate – hosted the opening of an exhibition by Associate Professor Patrycja Longawa (UITM Rzeszów), entitled Illustratively About the Poster.
The event was attended by representatives of the University authorities, the academic community, artists, students, and numerous enthusiasts of poster art and illustration. The opening was conducted by His Magnificence, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Professor Adam Reich together with Associate Professor Grażyna Stojak Head of the University of Rzeszów Museum, who welcomed guests and introduced the themes of the display.
The exhibition presents original posters and illustrations by Patrycja Longawa, known for a bold visual language combining elements of symbolism, irony and poetic metaphor. In her work, the artist addresses themes related to culture, music and the contemporary social world, creating a unique dialogue between illustration and poster.
The display Illustratively About the Poster offers a cross-section of the artist’s oeuvre, which has been exhibited many times at prestigious international shows and competitions in over 50 countries worldwide.
Patrycja Longawa is the originator and President of the International Biennale of Music Poster in Rzeszów. To date, she has held 38 solo exhibitions and participated in over 570 group shows. She is the laureate of 125 awards and distinctions, including:
– First Prize at the II International Poster Exhibition (Germany, 2014);
– First Prize at the Ogaki Matsuri Festival International Poster Competition (Japan, 2017);
– Second Prize at the Biennale of Socio-Political Poster (Oświęcim, 2018);
– Excellent Award at the Hehu International Poster Festival (China, 2023);
– Professor Tadeusz Grabowski Award at the 28th Polish Poster Biennale (Katowice, 2023).
The exhibition is open to visitors at the Gallery of the University of Rzeszów Museum – at the Rectorate (al. Tadeusza Rejtana 16 C) until 30 November 2025.
