New Chancellor of the University of Rzeszów
We are pleased to announce that following a competitive recruitment process and a positive opinion from the Senate of the University of Rzeszów, Mr Bogusław Świeży, MA has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University.
Bogusław Świeży, MA is a lawyer, manager, and local government official with over 25 years of professional experience. A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Rzeszów, he specialises in team management, project implementation, and the administration of public assets.
He has developed his career in both the private and public sectors, holding various leadership and management positions. Over two decades of work have enabled him to build strong competencies in human resource management – he has successfully led teams of diverse structures and sizes, implementing modern organisational standards, procedures to improve internal communication, and a culture of interdepartmental cooperation.
From 2019 to 2025, he served as the First Deputy Mayor of the City of Przemyśl, where he was responsible for overseeing the Department of Geodesy and Real Estate Management, the Department of Architecture, the Department of Housing Management, and the Department of Development, Investment and External Funds. During this time, he gained extensive experience in implementing investment processes, including construction projects – he coordinated the preparation, implementation, and supervision of infrastructure projects, renovations, urban development, and housing and municipal investments.
One of the key areas of his work was the management of municipal assets – both from legal and strategic perspectives. He supported the development of mechanisms for effective resource management, introduced tools to increase transparency and access to information about city assets, and promoted the optimisation of the use of public property.
He is characterised by strategic thinking, the ability to analyse complex administrative processes, and a high standard of organisational culture. His work is guided by principles of responsibility, transparency, and a partnership-based approach to collaboration.
His primary goal is to ensure modern, efficient, and transparent management of the University's administrative and financial infrastructure, including the rational and strategic administration of its assets, enabling the development of research, teaching, and organisational infrastructure in line with the needs of the academic community.
