More Successes for Polish Dance Competition Couples from the University of Rzeszów!

On 14th June, competitive dance couples from the Song and Dance Ensemble of the University of Rzeszów Resovia Saltans achieved podium finishes while competing against top pairs from various academic institutions and cultural centres across Poland at the National Polish Dance Tournament “For the Dobczyce Goat”.

  • Barbara Wojtak and Michał Nawojski danced their way to third place, earning a bronze medal in the sixth age category.
  • Katarzyna Momola and Jakub Zwolak, following an intense semi-final round, advanced to the final group and secured a high fourth place in age category VB.
  • Zuanna Krupornicka and Michał Deręgowski, competing in categories IVB and IV Open, reached the finals in both and finished fourth in each.

The debut couple Gabriela Czarnik and Kamil Łysoń came very close to qualifying for the finals in the semi-final round and ultimately placed seventh – a strong motivation for continued training.

In the Improvisation category, our dancer Katarzyna Momola, together with Michał Boroń – a dancer from the Jagiellonian University’s ensemble Słowianki – qualified for the final round, where their performance of an improvised mazur earned them third place and a bronze medal!

Warm congratulations to the Resovia Saltans competition couples and their coach, Dr Jadwiga Bär, on their remarkable national-level achievements. We wish you continued success!

The Resovia Saltans dance pairs will continue to represent the University of Rzeszów later this month and in July 2025 at two major events:

  • The 1st National Polish Dance Tournament “For the Lasowiak Heart” in Stalowa Wola
  • The 31st National Polish Dance Tournament “Warmia 2025” in Olsztyn

We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
