On 24 June 2025, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Professor Adam Reich, met with football medallists from the University’s Academic Sports Association (AZS UR).

The meeting was attended by players from both the men’s and women’s teams, along with representatives of AZS UR. The Rector congratulated the students on their impressive achievements, emphasising the importance of university sport in academic life and its role in shaping the character of young people.

Men’s Team Wins Gold at the Polish Academic Football Championships

The AZS UR men’s team secured the gold medal during the finals of the Polish Academic Football Championships held between 8–11 June 2025. The tournament featured top university teams from across Poland. Following a series of thrilling and determined performances, the Rzeszów team claimed the top trophy, demonstrating exceptional athletic ability and strategic preparation.

Silver for Women’s Team at the Polish Academic Women’s Football Championships

The AZS UR women’s team earned the silver medal in the Polish Academic Women’s Football Championships, held from 2–6 June 2025. Our students delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing technical skill and fighting spirit in every match. The silver medal represents a tremendous achievement and a source of pride for the players and the entire academic community.

We extend our warmest congratulations to both teams and their coaching staff! Their success is a testament to the fact that the University of Rzeszów is not only a place of learning, but also a space where sporting talent, passion, and the spirit of fair play can flourish.
