Landscape Architecture Graduates from the University of Rzeszów Present Their Master's Projects at the Rzeszów City Hall
On 7 July 2025, a ceremonial presentation of master’s theses by graduates of the Landscape Architecture programme at the University of Rzeszów took place in the Session Hall of Rzeszów City Hall. The event was attended by the President of Rzeszów, Konrad Fijołek, who listened with great interest to the results of the research and design solutions developed by the young landscape architects.
The main theme of the projects was the development of selected green spaces in Rzeszów — specifically the Baranówka housing estate park and the area near the Olszynki Park complex. A total of five graduates presented their original proposals, based on spatial analyses, behavioural observations, public consultations, and principles of pro-ecological design.
All projects were created in close collaboration with the Rzeszów City Council, and their results may serve as a tangible contribution to the further development and revitalisation of public urban spaces.
The presentations by the young designers drew considerable attention and appreciation. The projects were developed under the academic supervision of staff from the Landscape Architecture Studio at the University of Rzeszów:
- Dr Agata Gajdek, Eng., Landscape Architect,
- Dr Anna Sołtysik, Eng., Architect.
A pleasant highlight of the event was the presentation of a financial award of PLN 4,000 to the student team involved in designing the development concept for the Baranówka park. The prize was sponsored by Mateusz Maciejczyk, Rzeszów City Councillor, Chair of the Climate and Ecology Committee and the Baranówka District Council.
