International Musical Production ‘Music of One Thousand and One Nights’ at the University of Rzeszów

On 18 October 2025, the Concert Hall of the Faculty of Music at the University of Rzeszów hosted an exceptional artistic event – the international musical production ‘Music of One Thousand and One Nights’.

It was the premiere performance of a musical fairy tale by Dr Dominik Lasota, inspired by the legendary Book of One Thousand and One Nights. The work was created especially with Rzeszów’s choral and academic community in mind, combining the sweep of choral, orchestral and theatrical music.

On stage were combined female choirs, the Artensemble Resovia chamber orchestra, as well as ensembles from the University of Lviv (Ukraine), the University of Prešov (Slovakia), the University of Nyíregyháza (Hungary), and choirs and students from Rzeszów and the Podkarpacie region. The joint performance became a true symbol of international artistic and academic cooperation.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the President of the City of Rzeszów, Konrad Fijołek, and the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Professor Adam Reich.

The concert was organised by the Polish Association of Choirs and Orchestras – Rzeszów Branch, with Professor Anna Marek-Kamińska as the initiator and Artistic Director of the undertaking.

‘Music of One Thousand and One Nights’ captivated the audience with its wealth of sonorities and emotions, transporting listeners into a world of stories and extraordinary sounds. The event became one of the most significant artistic highlights of the autumn in Rzeszów, confirming that the University of Rzeszów is a place where culture, scholarship and art form a distinctive community.

We extend our thanks to all the artists, organisers and the audience for an unforgettable evening!

The event was co-organised by the Faculty of Music of the University of Rzeszów and the Student Scientific and Artistic Association for Choral Conducting of the Faculty of Music, University of Rzeszów.
