On 19–20 June 2025, staff from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Rzeszów took part in the international academic conference Migration and Societal Change, organised by Utrecht University (Netherlands). The event brought together researchers and experts from around the world focusing on migration, societal transformation, integration, and migration policy.

As part of the conference, the team representing the University of Rzeszów led a dedicated thematic session entitled Ukrainian Refugees in Poland, addressing current challenges, experiences, and directions in migration policy concerning refugees from Ukraine. The presentations and discussions during this session focused on issues such as adaptation processes, social integration, labour market inclusion, and institutional support for those fleeing the war.

The conference also provided an excellent opportunity to present, on an international platform, the results of a research project conducted by our staff: Ukrainian Migrants in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship: Socio-Economic Implications. This project focuses on analysing the consequences of the influx of Ukrainian refugees into the Podkarpackie region and the impact of these developments on local communities, the economy, and public institutions.
