The Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Psychology, Dr. Edyta Łuszczki, Prof. UR, and Prof. Lesław Magalas, the Rector's Representative for Rankings, took part in a guest visit to the People's Republic of China. The visit resulted in the signing of key cooperation agreements between the University of Rzeszów and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou.

The visit of the delegation from the University of Rzeszów to China was an important step in the internationalization of the university and the strengthening of international academic cooperation. On December 18, 2025, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich, signed cooperation agreements with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) – one of the leading humanities and social sciences universities in southern China.

“This event marks the beginning of a new chapter in the international activities of the University of Rzeszów. However, this is only the beginning – further activities are planned in the near future,” emphasizes the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich.

The signed documents include a general partnership agreement and a memorandum of understanding on academic cooperation. The agreements provide for the development of joint activities in the areas of education, scientific research, and academic exchange. In particular, they provide for the possibility of student and staff exchange programs, joint research and scientific publications, the organization of conferences, seminars, and study visits, as well as cooperation in the creation and implementation of teaching programs.

An important element of the agreements is also a declaration of cooperation in the creation and operation of the International Chinese Language Education Center, which is to promote the development of language and intercultural competences of students at the University of Rzeszów and strengthen the presence of UR in the international academic space.

The visit was also of a working and strategic nature – it allowed for direct talks with the authorities of the partner university and discussion of directions for further development of cooperation, including in socially important areas such as local development, social services, public policy, and health issues.
