We are delighted to share fantastic news from Leszno, where the Polish Academic Football Championships (Men’s Division) took place.

Between 8–11 June 2025, the sports facilities of KU AZS ANS Leszno hosted a competition featuring 16 academic teams from across Poland, all competing for the title of the best student football team of 2025.

The team from the University of Rzeszów was drawn into Group C, where they faced teams from ZUT Szczecin, ANS Nowy Sącz, and the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

On Monday morning, our players claimed their first victory with an emphatic 6:1 win over ZUT Szczecin, immediately establishing themselves as one of the tournament favourites.
The second group match resulted in a 1:1 draw against ANS Nowy Sącz.

Tuesday brought the final group match, and a 2:0 win against the Silesian University of Technology secured our team’s quarter-final qualification.

In the quarter-finals, we faced AWSB Dąbrowa Górnicza. The University of Rzeszów dominated the pitch and won 2:0, although the match was later officially recorded as a 3:0 walkover due to an incomplete opposing squad.

On Wednesday morning, the semi-final against SGH Warsaw took place. The team, under the leadership of coach Wiesław Gołda, MSc, delivered a decisive 3:0 victory, earning their place in the final.

At exactly 4:00 PM, the grand final commenced between the University of Rzeszów and Gdańsk University of Technology. After 60 minutes of play (2 x 30-minute halves), the match ended in a goalless draw, leading to a penalty shoot-out.

With a final score of 4:3 in the shoot-out, the dream came true —
