Conference “Migrants from Ukraine in Schools of the Podkarpackie Region – Education Policy and Challenges for Integration”
On 28–29 October 2025, the University of Rzeszów hosted a two-day conference entitled “Migrants from Ukraine in Schools of the Podkarpackie Region – Education Policy and Challenges for Integration.”
Organised as part of the “Regional Initiative of Excellence” (RID) project, the event brought together representatives of academic, educational, and local government communities, as well as practitioners involved in supporting pupils with migration experience.

In response to the ongoing challenges related to the arrival of pupils from Ukraine to Polish schools, the conference addressed key issues such as education policy for children and young people with migration experience, integration within the school environment, didactic and psycho-pedagogical support, and the effectiveness of activities undertaken by non-governmental organisations and educational institutions.
The conference also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices between regions, institutions, and the spheres of science and practice.
Due to its geographical and demographic characteristics, the Podkarpackie region plays a significant role in the processes of arrival and integration of pupils from Ukraine. The event thus became a space for important reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing the region — both in the educational and socio-cultural dimensions.
