Award for Dr. Małgorzata Skulimowska in a nationwide publishing competition for her publication entitled “Roztocze – the most important things. Facts. Interesting facts. Attractions.”
Dr. Małgorzata Skulimowska from the Institute of History at the University of Rzeszów won first prize in the Other Local History Studies category in the 33rd National Review of Local History and Tourism Books. She received the award on November 28, 2024, in Warsaw.
The award-winning publication, Roztocze – to, co najważniejsze. Fakty. Ciekawostki. Atrakcje (Roztocze – the most important things. Facts. Interesting facts. Attractions), was prepared in collaboration with Renata Ferenc-Pupek. The book is a comprehensive compendium of knowledge about Roztocze, presenting both its natural and landscape values, as well as the most interesting places, traditions, and local histories.
The competition committee, chaired by Prof. Janusz Zdebski, justified the award as follows:
“An excellent monographic study showing the charm and beauty of Roztocze, beautifully illustrated. A valuable publication for local historians.”
The Review of Local History and Tourism Books is one of the most important events promoting publications devoted to cultural heritage, tourism, and local history in Poland. The aim of the competition is to recognize books that promote Polish regions in a special way and encourage readers to explore their richness.
