On January 5–10, representatives of the University of Rzeszów participated in an official visit to the People's Republic of China, aimed at strengthening international cooperation, internationalizing education, and promoting the University of Rzeszów on the international stage.

The visit was attended by His Magnificence Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich, and Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Rafał Podgórski, who accompanied the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Province, Władysław Ortyl, as part of the official foreign mission of the Podkarpacie region.

The visit began in the city of Liuzhou with a gala final concert featuring the Podkarpackie Philharmonic Orchestra, which was an important element in promoting Polish culture in China.

The next stage of the program in Liuzhou featured meetings with local authorities and site visits to the region's leading companies. These visits highlighted modern industrial and technological solutions, specifically within a smart construction machinery factory and automotive manufacturing facilities.

An important part of the visit was a tour of Guangxi University of Science and Technology, where the delegation was presented with the university's achievements in the fields of engineering, robotics, automation, and modern industrial technologies. During the meetings, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Prof. Adam Reich, proposed the development of cooperation between the universities, especially in the fields of medicine, economics, and cultural exchange.

During their stay in the Guangxi region, the delegation learned about the activities of the China–ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center (Nanning AI Hub) – a center for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions – as well as the functioning of the China-ASEAN Mercantile Exchange platform, which supports international trade and economic cooperation between China and the ASEAN countries.

The key point of the program was a meeting with Dr. Jian Taojie, Chief Expert of the China Elite Council, an institution that plays an important role in strategic consulting in the areas of education, scientific research, innovation, and international cooperation.

Dr. Jian Taojie has extensive experience in building partnerships between universities, research centers, public administration, and the economic sector, and his activities focus in particular on developing cooperation between China and Europe. On his initiative, a meeting was organized with representatives of several universities in Shanghai, devoted to the possibilities of establishing and expanding academic cooperation with the University of Rzeszów.

The main objectives of the visit were:

• to develop cooperation with universities in China,
• to strengthen the internationalization of education and scientific research,
• to promote the University of Rzeszów as a modern academic center open to international cooperation.
