A strategic investment for the region is underway! Investment program for the expansion of the USK in the field of oncology established
The Council of Ministers has established an investment program called “Expansion of the Fryderyk Chopin University Clinical Hospital in Rzeszów in the field of oncology.”
This is one of the most important infrastructure projects in the history of the University of Rzeszów and the University Clinical Hospital – an investment that will significantly change the landscape of oncological care in the region. The program was adopted by a resolution of the Council of Ministers on February 2, 2026, and will be implemented between 2026 and 2029. It is financed by the Medical Fund, and the total value of the support amounts to PLN 299,859,144.
The main objective of the investment program is to increase the availability, quality, and comprehensiveness of oncological diagnosis and treatment in the Podkarpackie Province by building and equipping a new Oncology Clinic at the University Clinical Hospital (in Świlcza), which responds to growing epidemiological and demographic needs and ensures the implementation of the requirements of the National Oncology Strategy and the National Oncology Network. The investment is of strategic importance for the University of Rzeszów. The new Oncology Clinic will create conditions for the development of medical students' education, increase the number of residency places, and conduct clinical trials and innovative projects in the field of oncology.
A key element of the program is the construction and full equipping of the new Oncology Clinic of the University Clinical Hospital in Świlcza. A six-story building (five above ground and one underground) will be built, designed as an autonomous, modern diagnostic and therapeutic unit providing comprehensive oncological care in one place.
This is another step in building a strong clinical base for the University of Rzeszów and strengthening its position as an academic and medical center of supra-regional importance. The investment program came into effect on February 7, 2026. Ahead of us is a phase of intensive design and construction work, which will gradually bring us closer to the launch of a modern Oncology Clinic.
