A ceremonial jubilee parade wound its way through the streets of Rzeszów

One of the most symbolic and, at the same time, most spectacular events of the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the University of Rzeszów was the ceremonial procession of the academic community, which took place on 8 June 2026 through the streets of Rzeszów, marking the start of the university’s anniversary gala.

The procession was attended by representatives of the University of Rzeszów’s administration, the Senate, deans, staff, postgraduate students and undergraduates, as well as special guests of the jubilee – rectors and representatives of academic institutions from across Poland, members of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. They were accompanied by the Military Band and members of the “Resovia Saltans” Song and Dance Ensemble, lending the event a particularly solemn character.

The procession set off from the building of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Rzeszów on Grunwaldzka Street. The participants stopped at the Stanisław Konarski Monument, where flowers were laid in tribute to the outstanding reformer of Polish education. The procession then made its way through the city streets to the Podkarpackie Philharmonic, where the 25th Anniversary Gala of the University of Rzeszów was held.

The jubilee procession was not only ceremonial but also deeply symbolic. The route of the march referred to events from a quarter of a century ago and the early days of the University of Rzeszów, recalling the journey the university has undertaken since its foundation to become one of the most important academic centres in south-eastern Poland.

It was undoubtedly one of the most impressive academic processions in the history of the University of Rzeszów. Hundreds of participants, representing different generations of the academic community, came together to demonstrate their commitment to university values, traditions and the spirit of academic community.
