3rd Edition of the International Student Scientific Conference RIMSA 2025
The 3rd edition of the International Student Scientific Conference RIMSA 2025 (Rzeszów International Medical Students’ Association Conference), held on 24–25 October 2025 in the Queen Jadwiga Hall of the University of Rzeszów, served as an exceptional forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and the latest scientific achievements among medical students from around the world.
The event brought together participants representing universities from Poland, the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, and Oman, creating a platform for discussion on current issues in modern medicine, pharmacology, and both basic and clinical sciences.
The conference opened with an official ceremony, followed by interdisciplinary thematic sessions covering a broad range of topics — from modern pharmacological therapies, internal medicine and gynaecology to neurology, paediatrics, surgery, and basic sciences.
The first day of proceedings focused on new trends in pharmacology, genetics, and metabolic diseases, as well as interdisciplinary issues in gynaecology and internal medicine. Particular interest was drawn to presentations addressing innovative therapies for obesity and diabetes, the neuroprotective effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists, metabolic disorders in hepatopulmonary portal hypertension, and the role of brown adipose tissue in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance.
The second day of the conference featured a poster session and further oral sessions dedicated to molecular biology, translational medicine, surgery, and neurology. Among the most acclaimed topics were studies on AI-based imaging techniques in brain tumour diagnostics, biomarkers in hypoxic–ischaemic encephalopathy in newborns, modern surgical methods, and the impact of social media on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents.
RIMSA 2025 was not only a review of the scientific achievements of young researchers but also a platform for international academic integration. The presented works, both experimental and clinical, reflected global trends in modern medicine — interdisciplinarity, the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, the growing importance of personalised medicine, and the ethical dimensions of technological advancement.
The conference’s high academic level, thematic diversity, international collaboration, and student engagement confirmed RIMSA 2025 as one of the most prestigious student conferences in Poland — inspiring young scientists and promoting the development of medical research on the international stage.
