Theoretical Music Harmony Association “CONSONANS”

Theoretical Music Harmony Association “CONSONANS”

Supervisor: Dr Ewa Fedyczkowska

President: Hubert Janzer

Vice President: Milena Baran

Description of Activities

The Association’s work focuses on broadly understood music education. It is addressed to students of all study programs at the Faculty of Music who wish to develop and deepen their knowledge of music theory and harmony, both in theoretical and practical dimensions.

Membership in the Association allows students to cultivate their passion and expand their skills, with the possibility of applying them in further studies, professional work, and individual artistic activity. It also supports learning in related musical disciplines such as improvisation, musical analysis, composition, and arrangement, while developing musical intuition, aesthetic sensitivity, and interpretative awareness.

Combining the study of harmony with formal analysis becomes a valuable tool in preparing original arrangements of classical, popular, and occasional music, ultimately enabling members to publish their own musical arrangements in both score and recording formats.

The goals of the Association also include organizing scientific and discussion meetings, promoting members’ creative work, and engaging in interdisciplinary musical activities within the Faculty of Music, fostering integration within the student community.
