About the Association

The Student Artistic and Scientific Association of Choral Conducting has been operating at the Faculty of Music of the University of Rzeszów since 2017. It is a dynamic environment supporting the development of young conductors, choir singers, and cultural animators.

The Association’s activity focuses on integrating artistic practice, scientific reflection, and organizational initiatives, creating a coherent space for shaping conducting competencies and active participation in culture.

Objectives

  • development of students’ conducting and artistic competencies
  • shaping skills in working with a choral ensemble
  • integration of the musical community (choral music, conducting, music education)
  • conducting research in the field of choral music and performance
  • implementation of artistic and scientific projects
  • promotion of musical culture in the Podkarpacie region
  • development of international cooperation
  • implementation of new technologies in music (sound design, multimedia)
  • educational and outreach activities

Scientific and Publishing Activity

  • organization of the National Scientific Conference “The Conductor Facing Competition Challenges” (2017)
  • scientific and documentary publications:
    • “Choirs of Rzeszów” (2019)
  • cooperation with recognized representatives of the academic and artistic community

Artistic and Concert Activity

  • concerts in Poland and abroad
  • participation in premieres of works by contemporary composers
  • organization of artistic events and academic concerts

  • “Credo of the Cursed Soldiers” (2024, under the patronage of the President of Poland)

International Projects

  • participation in the project “Podkarpacie in the Footsteps of John Paul II – Traditions, Culture, and Music” (2025)
  • concerts in the Czech Republic, Italy, the Vatican, and Austria
  • cooperation with international choral ensembles (Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Ukraine, Switzerland, Canada) and cultural institutions
  • participation in the concert tour “Metamorphoses” (Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Poland)
  • co-creation of the International Festival of Christmas Carols and Pastorals in Rzeszów

Significance and Character of the Association

The Association is an important center for practical training in choral conducting and a platform integrating artistic, scientific, and social activities.

Its work contributes to the development of the region’s musical life and strengthens the presence of the University of Rzeszów in the national and international cultural space.
