Sound Engineering and Stage Lighting Production
Bachelor’s Degree Programme (First-Cycle Studies)
Programme Graduate Profile
The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Sound Engineering and Stage Lighting Production combines artistic creativity with advanced technical expertise. Designed for students interested in live events, music production, recording technologies, and multimedia environments, the programme provides comprehensive preparation for careers in the rapidly evolving audiovisual industry.
Graduates of the Sound Engineering and Stage Lighting Production programme possess comprehensive theoretical knowledge of selected areas of acoustics and optics, complemented by practical skills essential for the implementation of artistic and audiovisual projects. They are able to employ advanced technical solutions in sound and lighting production and effectively apply their knowledge in professional practice. The programme uniquely combines sound engineering, audiovisual production and stage lighting technologies within a single interdisciplinary curriculum.
Graduates are equipped with the expertise required to select, configure and operate stage sound and lighting systems. They are capable of designing complex sound reinforcement systems based on precise power calculations and the technical characteristics of electroacoustic transducers, ensuring optimal performance in a variety of production environments.
The programme prepares graduates to deliver audiovisual production for cultural and artistic events, undertake digital audio recording and processing, and design acoustic adaptations of performance spaces. They are able to select and integrate electroacoustic system components in accordance with the principles of acoustic engineering, as well as perform sound signal processing using specialised hardware and advanced software solutions.
Graduates are qualified to carry out professional audio recordings in both studio and live performance settings. They can provide sound reinforcement and stage lighting for concerts encompassing classical, popular, jazz and electroacoustic music, while also independently developing and realising their own artistic concepts through recording and production projects.
In addition, graduates possess advanced skills in analogue and digital audio processing, sound editing, and the operation of professional sound reinforcement and lighting systems. They are proficient in the use of software supporting live sound engineering, stage lighting control, and multimedia production. Graduates are also experienced in working with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), multitrack recording and audio mixing environments, and demonstrate a thorough command of specialist terminology associated with contemporary sound and stage lighting production.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates have attained foreign language competence at a minimum level of B2, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
