The University of Rzeszów is investing in the development of science and technology programmes. The new degree programmes are designed to meet the real needs of the labour market.
The University of Rzeszów is consistently strengthening its educational offer in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In the 2026/2027 academic year, the Faculty of Exact and Technical Sciences at the University of Rzeszów is launching new degree programmes designed to address dynamic economic changes and the growing demand for highly qualified specialists.
These new academic programmes have been developed in line with current technological trends and the development priorities of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship’s regional smart specialisations. The new programmes include:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Management, Materials and Technologies in the Energy Sector
- Mathematics – a degree programme conducted in English
Artificial Intelligence
One of the key new degree programmes is Artificial Intelligence, designed to prepare students for careers in areas such as Industry 4.0, healthcare, and the financial sector. The programme combines knowledge of programming, data analytics, and machine learning with the practical design and implementation of intelligent systems.
Students will develop skills in areas including AI model development, medical image analysis, and the creation of autonomous systems, while gaining hands-on experience in modern laboratories equipped with advanced computing infrastructure.
Management, Materials and Technologies in the Energy Sector
The Management, Materials and Technologies in the Energy Sector degree programme responds directly to the ongoing energy transition and the development of advanced materials technologies. Its interdisciplinary nature combines engineering knowledge with management skills, preparing graduates for careers in the energy industry, research and development, as well as public administration.
Mathematics
Another new addition to the University’s academic portfolio is Mathematics, a degree programme taught in English. It addresses the growing importance of data analysis and mathematical expertise in the digital economy. The curriculum covers areas such as mathematical modelling, statistics, and programming, equipping graduates with the skills needed to succeed in an international professional environment.
Labour market experts emphasise that the development of artificial intelligence does not reduce the number of jobs; rather, it is transforming the nature of work and increasing demand for professionals with advanced technological skills. In this context, education in fields such as artificial intelligence, energy technologies, and data analytics is becoming one of the key factors in strengthening the competitiveness of the Subcarpathian region’s economy.
