ETHICS OF PUBLICATION

Integrity of one of the basic foundations of quality in science. Readers should have the certainty that the authors of the publication have clearly, reliably, and fairly presented the results of their work, regardless of whether these are authors or whether they have used the services of some specialised entity (such as a physical or legal person).  

The proof of the ethical attitude of an academic researcher and of the highest standards of the editorial board should be constituted by the clarity and openness of information available on the entities which play a role in the creation of the publication (including original content, material, and financial support, etc.).  

In order to ensure the ethics of its scientific publications, the Editorial Board of the periodical “Culture – Transformations – Education”, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, have taken steps to eliminate the phenomena of ghostwriting (1) and guest authorship (2).

For this reason, Authors are obliged to submit a written declaration stating that they have respected the ethics principles of scientific publications, in which:

• All co-authors are identified along with their professional affiliations and contributions, namely, identifying who is the author of the concept, assumptions, methods, protocols etc. used in the preparation of the publication,
• The contributions of individual authors in the creation of the publication are identified.

The editors of the periodical “Culture – Transformations – Education” will document all signs of lack of academic integrity, in particular the violation of principles of ethics which apply to science, and will make public instances of such violations on its website, as well as informing the relevant entities and institutions which employ authors who have committed such violations, scientific associations to which they belong, associations of science editors, etc.  

1) Ghostwriting – exists when a person has made a significant contribution to the creation of the publication without such participation being revealed as one of the authors or without this role being mentioned in the “Thanks” section of the publication.

 2) Guest authorship (honorary authorship) – exists when the contribution of a listed author is negligible or non-existent, and in spite of that the individual is listed as an author/co-author of the publication.
