Passing the semester
- The crediting/passing period in Rzeszów University Doctoral School is a semester.
- The requirement for passing the semester is to obtain credits/passes for all the classes and professional internships within the time period specified by an ordinance of the UR Rector on the organization of the academic year, and to meet other requirements covered by the curriculum.
- The following grading scale is used when passing the classes: very good (5,0); good plus (4,5); good (4,0); satisfactory plus (3,5); satisfactory (3,0); unsatisfactory/fail (2,0); pass (zal.); fail (nzal.).
- Doctoral candidates of the first, second and third year of education are obliged, by the end of each academic year, to submit the following documents to the secretary’s office:
- a report on the performance of his/her duties in a given academic year in accordance with the individual research plan with an appendix to the report (if applicable);
- documents confirming the doctoral candidate's scientific or artistic activity shown in the report - incl. copies of certificates of participation in conferences, scientific publications, etc.;
- the doctoral candidate's periodic evaluation questionnaire issued by the supervisor for a given academic year;
- documents confirming the completion of internships, i.e. a calendar of internships, a certificate of completion of professional internships issued by the Dean of the Faculty, an class plan, a course syllabus, with the provision that the doctoral candidate is obliged to submit these documents by the end of each semester in which the internship takes place.
- Doctoral candidates of the fourth year of educationis are obliged, by the end of each semester, to submit the following documents to the secretary’s office of the UR Doctoral School:
- a report on the performance of his/her duties in a given semester in accordance with the individual research plan with an appendix to the report (if applicable);
- documents confirming the doctoral candidate's scientific or artistic activity shown in the report - incl. copies of certificates of participation in conferences, scientific publications, etc.;
- the doctoral candidate's periodic evaluation questionnaire issued by the supervisor;
- documents confirming the completion of internships, i.e. a calendar of internships, a certificate of completion of professional internships issued by the Dean of the Faculty, an class plan, a course syllabus.
- Doctoral candidate is obliged to submit Individual research plan to the Secretary’s Office during the first year of education. Details here.
- On the basis of data from the VU system and the submitted documents, the Head of Doctoral School makes a decision to pass the semester within the time period specified by an ordinance of the UR Rector on the organization of the academic year.
- The Head of Doctoral School, at a justified request of the doctoral candidate, may extend the semester crediting/passing period by one month, with the provision that the doctoral candidate is obliged to participate in the classes provided for in the next crediting/passing period.
