Erasmus+ will Fund International Project on AI in Teacher Education

The Institute of English Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Rzeszów, has been awarded a prestigious grant under the ERASMUS+ Teaching Academies programme.
The funding will support the implementation of the international research and educational project titled "Enhancing teachers’ AI Literacy" (AI TEACH), to be carried out from 2025 to 2028.

The total budget of the project is 1.5 million euros. Its main goal is to develop and implement a comprehensive professional development programme for both pre-service and in-service teachers. The initiative aims to enhance their competencies in applying artificial intelligence in teaching, assessment, and interaction with students - in ways that are ethical, critical, and creative.

The project is to carried out within a consortium of 17 institutions from Austria, Belgium, Estonia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Turkey. This international cooperation will foster a strong network of academic educators who are leaders in AI-supported educational innovation.

On behalf of the University of Rzeszów, the project will be coordinated by Dr Marta Dick Bursztyn from the Department of English Studies, Applied and Cognitive Linguistics Section, the project leader, with Aneta Radaczyńska, coordinator of the Welcome Center "New Space for Scientist" and the UR’s EURAXESS Centre.

This marks another significant step for the University of Rzeszów toward internationalization and the digital transformation of education, bridging tradition with forward-looking academic excellence.

We warmly congratulate the team and wish them every success in the project’s implementation!
