International cooperation between UR students – first eTwinning project completed
Students from the Institute of Pedagogy and the Institute of Polish Studies and Journalism at the University of Rzeszów have completed their participation in an international project implemented as part of the eTwinning program. It was the first project of this type carried out at the university, constituting an important step towards the internationalization of the education process and the development of the competences of future educators and speech therapists.
The project was carried out in February and involved cooperation between students of preschool and early school education and speech therapy with teaching Polish as a foreign language with partners from Spain, Jordan, and Tunisia. Eighteen students from the University of Rzeszów took part in the project.
The university coordinator for the eTwinning program is Rafał Mazur, while the student team leader is Anna Fergisz, a fifth-year student of preschool and early school education. Eighteen students from the University of Rzeszów took part in the project: Aleksandra Wałczyk, Zuzanna Mazur, Julia Mychajłewycz, Aleksandra Gajdek, Aleksandra Lęcznar, Anna Wikiera, Adrianna Nycz, Aleksandra Żuchowicz, Amelia Totoń, Gabriela Totoń, Paulina Paśko, Zuzanna Korczyńska, Karolina Ciszek, Wiktoria Świderska, Julia Stachów, Justyna Szalwa, and Patrycja Gronkiewicz.
During the project, students worked in international project teams, carrying out tasks related to the use of digital tools in education. Each group prepared their own presentations, during which they presented a selected digital tool and ways of its practical application in teaching.
Participants presented, among other things, the possibilities of creating interactive materials, conducting engaging online lessons, preparing quizzes, educational games, and tools supporting student collaboration. Particular emphasis was placed on the practical dimension of the presented solutions – students showed how the tools could be used in classes with children and young people, both in face-to-face and remote teaching.
During the online meetings, participants not only presented their projects, but also exchanged experiences, gave each other tips, and discussed the advantages and limitations of individual tools. This form of work fostered the development of cooperation, communication, and critical analysis skills in relation to modern educational solutions.
The project enabled students to develop their digital, language, and communication skills, as well as to learn about the diverse educational perspectives resulting from different education systems and cultural contexts. An important element of the cooperation was also the integration of teams, getting to know each other, and building international relations.
The completed project confirmed that international cooperation and the practical use of digital technologies are an important element of modern academic education and promote the comprehensive development of students, preparing them to work in a culturally and technologically diverse environment.
At the same time, we would like to inform you that another project is planned within the eTwinning program, dedicated to the topic of stereotypes. As part of this project, students will conduct discussions and create educational projects on the perception of cultural and social diversity together with their foreign partners.
