Institute of English Studies
About the Institute
Institute of English Studies was founded on January 1, 2025, under Faculty of Philology of University of Rzeszów. It conducts research in linguistics, literary studies (evaluated disciplines), and culture and religion sciences (currently not evaluated). The Institute is responsible for two study programs: English Philology (BA and MA programs with teaching and translation specializations), and Media, Visual and Social Communication (a paid BA program conducted in English).
In the years 2019-2024, the unit functioned as Chair of English Studies in Institute of Neophilology within the College of Humanities, and in the previous structure, in the years 2000-2019, as Institute of English Philology (converted from Chair of English Philology, which functioned in the years 1995-2000 on Philology Faculty of Rzeszów’s Teacher Training College).
Currently, five departments and two workshops constitute the structure of Institute of English Studies:
