Academic research
At the Faculty, the research is conducted around several main subjects in two fields:
Linguistics:
- Teaching and studying a foreign language/Polish as a foreign language.
- (Chosen) aspects of general, contrastive, and applied linguistics of Slavonic and Germanic languages, studied synchronically and diachronically.
- Socio-historical-cultural aspects of verbal and nonverbal communication.
- Onomastic, linguo-cultural, glottodidactic, logopedic, and pragmatic studies of the Polish language in both synchronic and diachronic aspects.
Literary studies:
- Research on literature and periodical publishing during Old Polish epochs and Polish renaissance; research on genre forms,
- The literature of 19th century Poland - myths, legends; problems and background of Polish education at the time,
- Problems of history, theory, literature anthropology and 20th-21st century Poland culture; research on media,
- Problems and background of literature and culture of the world; theoretical-literary and comparative issues.
Furthermore, Faculty employees conduct research in the scope of cultural and religious sciences, and social communication and media sciences.
