Both programmes have received positive evaluations from the Polish Accreditation Committee, confirming their academic quality and alignment with labour market needs.

Brief History

The Department of Computer Science was established on June 9, 2006, as a scientific and educational unit within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Rzeszów. On September 1, 2011, it was formally reorganized into an independent institute, continuing its activities within the same faculty until October 31, 2013. Following a faculty-wide restructuring, the unit reverted to departmental status on November 1, 2013.

Subsequently, on October 1, 2019, pursuant to a resolution of the University Senate, the Institute of Computer Science was reconstituted within the newly established College of Natural Sciences. As part of a comprehensive university-wide reform implemented in 2025, the Institute was incorporated into the Faculty of Exact and Technical Sciences.

Today, the Faculty offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science and conducts advanced research in areas such as Computer Science and Computer Science and Econometrics.
