Goals and Objectives

The knowledge of foreign languages facilitates life in the modern world, helps individuals achieve their goals, and enables better participation in culture. Therefore, the Centre’s aim is to actively promote foreign language learning through courses tailored to students’ fields and programs, utilizing modern textbooks, and applying advanced technologies.

As an interfaculty unit of University of Rzeszów, Centre for Foreign Language Studies:

  • Conducts English, French, Spanish, German, Russian and Latin courses for UR students. The curriculum is adjusted to each faculty’s needs and includes specialized language.
  • Conducts commercial compensatory courses, specialized language courses, and preparatory courses for certificate exams in English, German, Russian and French.
  • Administers its own examination center, in which LinguaSkill, DaF, TOLES (language of law) and TELC (levels B1, B2, C1) exams are conducted.
  • Conducts language exams for postgraduate students as well as exams required to obtain specializations in government institutions.
  • In cooperation with International Relations Office prepares UR students looking to study or take part in internships abroad, and conducts specialized language courses for employees as a part of the Erasmus program.
  • Employees of the Centre carry out translations commissioned by various academic entities, assist in preparing publications in foreign languages, support the organization of meetings, scientific sessions, and congresses involving academic staff and students from foreign universities, as well as help establish contacts with new international partners.
  • The Centre for Foreign Language Studies provides commercial educational services for government offices and public institutions.
