Goals and Objectives

Proficiency in foreign languages is essential for navigating the modern world, empowering individuals to pursue personal and professional aspirations, and fostering meaningful engagement in intercultural exchange. In response to these needs, the Centre for Foreign Language Teaching and Certification is committed to promoting language acquisition through courses tailored to students’ academic programmes and fields of study, supported by contemporary teaching materials and advanced educational technologies, such as interactive whiteboards, language learning platforms (e.g. Moodle, Rosetta Stone), AI-powered pronunciation tools, and virtual classrooms.

As an interfaculty unit of the University of Rzeszów, the Centre for Foreign Language Teaching and Certification:

  • Offers instruction in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Latin, and Russian for university students. The curriculum is adapted to the specific requirements of each faculty and includes specialised language training.
  • Provides commercial compensatory courses, specialised language instruction, and preparatory courses for certification exams in English, German, Russian, and French.
  • Operates its own examination centre, administering internationally recognised language proficiency tests such as
    - LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry),
    - Linguaskill (Cambridge English Online English Proficiency Test),
    - TELC (European Language Certificates) levels B1, B2, and C1,
    - TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication),
    - TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language),
    - TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills),
    - TFI (Test de Françis International),
    - WiDaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache in der Wirtschaft).
  • Conducts language examinations for postgraduate students and individuals pursuing professional specialisations within governmental institutions.
  • In cooperation with the International Relations Office, prepares students for study and internship programmes abroad, and offers specialised language courses for staff participating in the Erasmus programme.
  • Assists in the preparation of academic publications in foreign languages, supports the organisation of scholarly meetings and conferences involving international participants, and facilitates the development of new international partnerships.
  • Provides commercial educational services to government agencies and public institutions.
