Research at the Faculty of Humanities

Academic research at the Faculty of Humanities is conducted within two key institutes:

  • Institute of Archaeology
  • Institute of History

Owing to the University’s geographical location, the Faculty places particular emphasis on the study of the borderlands of Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia. However, the scope of research also includes broader, more universal projects across the humanities.

The Faculty is actively engaged in a wide range of research initiatives, including national and international grants, bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and collaborative research programmes. These efforts foster strong partnerships with both local and international academic institutions, such as:

  • University of Prešov (Slovakia)
  • Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine)
  • Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University (Ukraine)

In addition to academic collaboration, the Faculty maintains close ties with public and commercial institutions, ensuring that its research has practical applications and societal impact. The outcomes of these collaborations are regularly published in renowned academic journals and as monographs, contributing significantly to the advancement of the humanities.
