Third-year MVSC students took part in organising and running the Podkarpackie Festival of Science and Innovation, working behind the scenes as part of their work placement at the Podkarpackie Centre for Innovation (PCI). The second edition of the festival, held on 7 to 8 October 2026 at ZEN.COM EXPO in Jasionka, was organised by PCI together with the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, with universities, companies, institutions and NGOs as partners. Built around the motto “Theory is not enough, it aims to show young people, mainly secondary school pupils and students, that innovation and modern technology exist close to home, in regional companies, universities and research centres. The programme brought together around 100 exhibitors and dozens of interactive stations covering robotics, 3D printing, drones, electronics and AI, alongside a main stage with popular science talks, a competition between school classes and hands-on ProtoLab workshops, with several thousand visitors expected. For our students, supporting an event of this scale was a practical lesson in event coordination, communication and teamwork, putting what they study into practice in a professional setting.
