Erasmus Days at the University of Rzeszów: MVSC joins in Building an International Academic Community
On 14 October, the University of Rzeszów is celebrating Erasmus Days, an event that brings together students from around the world, promotes international mobility and encourages everyone to discover new cultures.
This academic year, the University of Rzeszów is hosting around 120 international exchange students, including young people from Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey and even the United States. The Erasmus Days programme features a range of integration activities, such as quizzes, games and other fun events, which help participants make new friends, overcome language barriers and explore different cultural perspectives.
The Media, Visual and Social Communication (MVSC) programme is proud to contribute to this celebration of international dialogue. As an English-taught programme built around intercultural communication, MVSC is committed to fostering an open, connected academic community, and this year it is represented in the Erasmus Days programme by Dr Donald Trinder.
Dr Trinder’s lecture, one of the highlights of the event, is devoted to Polish culture and the realities of studying and living in Poland. It offers a practical introduction for international students beginning their academic journey at the University of Rzeszów. Participants learn which aspects of Polish culture are worth getting to know, what to look out for in everyday life and how to find their way in a new academic environment. The talk helps students better understand local customs, the specifics of studying in Poland and the challenges that newcomers from abroad may face. It is also an opportunity to look at Polish life through the eyes of people from other cultures, which is exactly the kind of exchange of perspectives that lies at the heart of the MVSC programme.
Erasmus Days are not only a chance to have fun together. Above all, they are an important part of building an open, diverse and international academic community. Through the Erasmus+ programme, students gain new educational experiences, improve their language skills, learn about other traditions and form relationships that often last far longer than the exchange itself.
Erasmus Days remind us that although we come from different countries, speak different languages and grow up in different cultures, we share a curiosity about the world, a desire to learn and an openness to one another.
